2023 Athena Leadership Awards

November 20th, 2023 by

ATHENA Leadership Awards, first hosted in Canandaigua in 1985, has grown to be one of Ontario County’s largest awards events that honors & inspires local women. Nominees for ATHENA exemplify the highest level of professional excellence and exceptional leadership. They contribute time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community and actively mentor others, particularly women, in realizing their full potential.

First introduced in the Canandaigua market by founding sponsor, Margaret & Randy Farnsworth, now presenting sponsor Garber Randall Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac, Ontario County ATHENA Awards is respected as the longest running program in New York State and one of the first to recognize Young Professionals.

On Wed. November 8th, colleagues, friends and family of this year’s ATHENA nominees gathered at Hotel Canandaigua for an evening that included a fun-filled cocktail hour, delicious dinner, silent auction and inspiring stories from eleven outstanding women. Funds raised through our ATHENA program do important work. In addition to championing the strength and impact of women in our community, the proceeds of the silent auction are directed to the Professional Women of the Finger Lakes Scholarship Fund. Since the program’s inception, the program has contributed over $112,000 to scholarships in support of local women as they pursue their educational goals.

The following individuals represented Garber at this year’s event: Margaret, Randy & Alex Farnsworth, Sean & Lacey Carroll, Suzette Lukasik, Cheryl Rowe, Ruby Black, Mel Algier, Leah Bertoni, Heather Romeiser and Lynn Holcomb. Please join us in congratulating Kristen Harter as this year’s ATHENA recipient, and Elisha Everson as this year’s Young Professional recipient. All of this year’s nominees are deserving of this recognition and we encourage you to learn more at OntarioCountyATHENA.com.
